Bangli Receives MURI Record for Pouring Eco-Enzyme in Lake Batur

Bangli, Bali (ANTARA) - The Director of the Indonesian Museum of Records, Osmar Susilo, awarded the MURI record to the Bangli Regency Government, Bali, for their effort in simultaneously pouring 20 tons of eco-enzyme liquid to save and reduce pollution in Lake Batur.

"The pouring of Eco-Enzyme carried out by the Bangli Regency Government together with all community components today is part of the 819th Anniversary of Bangli City," said Bangli Regent Sang Nyoman Sedana Arta, in a press release from the Bangli Communications and Information Office, in Bangli, Thursday (8/6).

To maintain Lake Batur, one of the water sources in Bali Province, the Bangli Regency Government has made various efforts such as handling water hyacinth weeds, regulating floating net cages, managing waste, and wastewater entering the lake. This was conveyed by the Regent while receiving the MURI record award from the Director of the Indonesian Museum of Records, Osmar Susilo.

He explained that this regency does not have a sea but has a lake located in Kintamani District and is the largest lake in Bali.

"This lake is the main natural reservoir for Bali, therefore we need to protect and preserve it so that Lake Batur can be free from various kinds of pollution," he said.

The event was also attended by Jero Gede Batur Duuran, Bangli Regional Secretary Ida Bagus Gde Giri Putra, Chairwoman of the Bangli Regency TP.PKK, Ny. Sariasih Sedana Arta, Chairwoman of GOW Bangli Regency, Ny. Suciati Diar, Chairwoman of Gatriwara, Ny. Ayu Sukma Suastika, members of Forkompinda, DPR RI member I Nyoman Parta, and RID BRIN Deputy, Yopi.

Head of the Bangli Regency Environmental Service, I Putu Ganda Wijaya, explained that the purpose of pouring eco-enzyme is one of the efforts to save Lake Batur, especially in reducing pollution that causes a decline in water quality standards in the lake.

Lake Batur serves as a source of life for the people of Bangli and Bali, particularly for water needs.

The pouring locations were spread across six points, including Hulun Danu Songan with 3,726 liters, Pura Segara/Pura Jati with 2,185 liters, the middle of the lake with 4,015 liters, around Toya Devasya with 3,535 liters, Kedisan Pier with 3,515 liters, and in Terunyan with 3,235 liters.

With a total pouring on May 31, 2023, amounting to 20,211 liters involving 2,016 people. The eco-enzyme pouring was carried out in 11 sessions with a target of 237 tons.

Eco-enzyme is processed from vegetable and fruit waste but provides extraordinary benefits, including cleaning contaminated water.

Eco-enzyme produced in Bangli Regency involves OPDs within the Bangli Regency Government, BUMD, schools, village governments, PKK, communities, and the public.
